My name is Cindy Wilson, Reading Specialist, and I am so excited to be working with all grade levels this year. This is my 25th year of teaching and my 16th year at Jones School. I grew up in the Mount Airy City Schools and love teaching here. I graduated from Surry Community College and UNC-Greensboro with a Master's Degree in Education. I want everyone to be a lifelong learner and never stop discovering new things.

I work with the 4th grade Read to Achieve transition class and with 4th grade teachers to help our students make goals and reach them in all areas of 4th grade life! I will also be working with 3rd and 5th grade students to increase reading skills with many student groups.

I am the facilitator of the Staff Lighthouse Team and work with our entire school to become a Leader In Me Lighthouse School. We practice the 7 Habits of Happy Kids and strive to find the leader in each of our students.

I also coordinate the Hungry Bears Backpack Program that send supplemental food home with students in need on weekend.

If I can help you in any way please call me at the school 336-786-4131.

MY CLASS MISSION STATEMENT
This helps to guide our decisions every day!

WE WILL TREAT EVERYONE WITH RESPECT AND BE SUPPORTIVE OF EACH OTHER.
