What is your educational background? I attended Patterson Elementary, Highland Middle School, and Blackhawk High School. I went to Geneva College and earned a B.S.B.A. in Accounting and Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing, New York Institute of Technology and earned a MBA in General Business, Lees McRae and earned a B.S. in Elementary Education, and Duke University and earned an AIG Licensure, K-12.
Where do you teach? What grade level(s) and subject area(s)? I teach 3rd, 4th, & 5th grade STEAM classes and 4th & 5th grade Math AIG classes at Jones.
How many years have you been in education? This is my third year in education.
How many years have you worked in another career? I worked for eight years as an Accountant/Financial Analyst. Then, I took time off to start a family and be a stay at home mother. Finally, I decided to pursue a career in education.
Tells us about your family. I have been married to Eric for 19 years. We have two daughters, Amber (11) and Ashley (8). Our family dog is Brownie. We have lived in NC since 2004 and we love to travel and visit family in Pennsylvania.
What is your favorite part of the year and why? My favorite part of the year is summer because we get to spend time with our entire family, enjoy the outdoors, and pursue hobbies.
