Students at Jones have been hard at work this school year. They recently had their student-led conferences to share their goals and celebrations with others. At the beginning of December, they are looking forward to Holiday Family Fun night! Listen for all the details.

Recently released 2022-2023 accountability data shows growth and success across grade levels as 100% of schools in the district met or exceeded growth. With student growth and areas showing double digits above the state average, the system has a tremendous amount to celebrate.

Due to the increase of black ice, schools will be closed for students today Friday, January 19 with an optional teacher workday.

Mount Airy City Schools announces administrative additions and promotions effective July 1, 2023.

Due to extremely cold temperatures and the potential for refreezing, all schools will be on a two-hour delay tomorrow Wednesday, January 17.

Due to dropping temperatures throughout the day and possible refreezing, all schools will be closed for students today Tuesday, January 16 with an optional teacher workday for staff.

Due to flooding in our area, schools will operate on a 2-hour delay for tomorrow Wednesday, January 10th. This delay will provide bus drivers more daylight to navigate potential debris on roads. Tharrington will begin at 9:50 and Jones at 10:00 while middle and high schools will begin at 10:30.

Mark your calendars to join us December 14th from 5 to 7 for our Jones Holiday Family Fun Night. This will be a night filled with holiday joy! Our families will be decorating cookies, building holiday Legos, taking holiday family photos, creating ornaments for the tree, and so much more. We are looking forward to having your family on campus for this night of fun.
