2021-2022 Calendar Adjustment

Due to the increased amount of COVID testing and contact tracing being required on our campuses, we will be transitioning Monday, January 31, 2022, to a remote learning day.
congratulations

Congratulations to MACS Educators! EVAAS Date Released

Mount Airy City Schools was the only district to bring PreK-12th grade students face-to-face five days a week last year beginning August 17th. This child-centered approach allowed the district to return to school and yielded great academic results. This was an understandably difficult time for students and staff. Data reveals that living and attending school in Mount Airy City Schools last year provided students a tremendous advantage over the rest of the state and much of the nation.

Welcome to Jones Intermediate School! Leaders Learn Here...

Jones Intermediate School is a Leader in Me school. The Leader in Me is FranklinCovey's whole school transformation process that teaches leadership and life skills. These skills empower every child to be a leader. This process is rooted in the idea that we, as educators, not only are responsible for preparing each and every student to be college or career ready upon high school graduation we must also provide opportunities for students to identify and fulfill their potential.

The Leader in Me model recognizes that every child is capable. The model also recognizes that every child is a LEADER, has GENIUS, and ultimately, can lead their OWN LEARNING. At Jones Intermediate School, we help our students to achieve academically while we develop the whole person.

The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People is an integral part of The Leader in Me process. Key principles include responsibility, vision, integrity, teamwork, and collaboration.

We invite you to join us at Jones where we make leadership training part of everything we do. It impacts the culture, events, and even the instructional methods in our school. The Leader in Me is not one more thing; rather, it's teaching and learning in a much better way.
