Due to the increased amount of COVID testing and contact tracing being required on our campuses, we will be transitioning Monday, January 31, 2022, to a remote learning day.
Mount Airy City Schools was the only district to bring PreK-12th grade students face-to-face five days a week last year beginning August 17th. This child-centered approach allowed the district to return to school and yielded great academic results. This was an understandably difficult time for students and staff. Data reveals that living and attending school in Mount Airy City Schools last year provided students a tremendous advantage over the rest of the state and much of the nation.
Mount Airy City Schools is holding a vaccination clinic at Mount Airy High School on Wednesday, February 16th from 4:00-5:30 pm in the Commons Area. North Main Pharmacy will be running the clinic for anyone 5 and older.
COVID-19 vaccines are free to all, but please bring your insurance card if you have one.

Due to the fog advisory and potential for black ice, we will operate on a two-hour delay for today Tuesday, February 8. Tharrington Primary and Jones Intermediate will begin at 10:00 while Mount Airy High School will begin at 10:45. Staff members will get an email from their principal.
Monday, February 7 has been changed to closed for students with an optional teacher workday due to inclement weather. Staff members will get communication via email from their principals.
