Mount Airy City Schools is adopting a new online payment system, School Cash Online. Through School Cash Online, parents can pay registration fees, course fees, field trips, yearbooks, spirit wear, athletic fees, and more.
Friday, January 8th's anticipated weather appears to be snow. As promised, the first snow of the year will be a snow day for students. They will not have remote work assigned, but you will see your child bringing home devices and packets in case weather impacts Monday’s regularly scheduled school day.
Due to expected lower temperatures potentially causing slick roads tonight, we are transitioning to a remote learning day for Thursday, December 17 for students in grades PreK-8. Teachers will be available to assist students during their office hours. Mount Airy High School students who have a CTE or EOC exam for first period will start their testing at 10:30. More information will come home to MAHS students in their student email and on Schoology. Due to our staggered schedule, we are unable to have delays district-wide and this information was shared with our weather memo on November 18. You can find more information regarding inclement weather calls on our website. We are grateful for the opportunity to transition to remote learning days to avoid make-up days.
Due to tomorrow’s impending inclement weather, we are transitioning to a remote learning day for Wednesday, December 16. Teachers will be available to assist students during their office hours. Mount Airy High School students will experience a shift in exams. MAHS families will hear directly from MAHS on specifics.
Students at Jones Intermediate are learning about the importance of blood donation through an upcoming drive. Be a hero on Wednesday, October 28 from 2:00-6:30 at the American Red Cross building on Westlake Drive.
Mount Airy City Schools uses Bark for Schools to help us monitor school-issued accounts for signs of digital dangers. When potential issues like cyberbullying, suicidal ideation, and threats of violence arise, Bark sends us a notification. Parents and guardians can benefit from receiving these alerts, as well.
